Free Geneva Transport Card
The Foundation for Tourism in Geneva and Unireso are
introducing an all-in-one travel pass, the Geneva Transport
Card. This pass will facilitate travel on the public
transportation network in Geneva for the annual one million and
more visitors.
As of January 1st 2007, every visitor will receive a free
Geneva Transport Card upon check-in to their hotel establishment
with validity for the entire duration of their stay (including
the full departure day). The Geneva Transport Card, in its
credit-card format, is personal and nontransferable, enabling
visitors to make unlimited use of the entire
public-transportation network, covering trams and buses, CFF
Swiss Federal rail’s local trains, as well as yellow taxi boats
operated by the Société des Mouettes Genevoises.
The Geneva Transport Card further enhances the quality of a
stay in Geneva, extended to visitors using accommodation
facilities such as hotels, youth hostels and campings in the
entire canton. It is also a strong suggestion for its holders to
make use of the public transportation system and this without
the hassle of having to understand the pay machines. For further
